What’s better on a cold winter night than a hot bowl of creamy clam chowder? I’ll wait. This recipe is adapted from a recipe my Aunt Susan passed down and has always made for family get togethers over the holidays. For years I’ve been making it for get togethers with friends and it’s always a hit! People never fail to ask for the recipe and I’m usually a little nervous to give it away (because it’s so stinkin’ easy. And sometimes it’s nice to pretend I spent hours laboring over a hot stove even when I haven’t. ) Trust me. It’s that good!
Mix all ingredients, warm over low heat stirring to keep from burning on bottom.
Sprinkle real bacon bits and shredded cheese on top for extra flavor and garnish.
*Make a day ahead and refrigerate for even better flavor and warm again before serving. (It’s still good if made right before serving, but an extra day adds an extra amount of goodness!)
